Digg in a hole with HD-DVD Encryption

Digg have  reinstated all digg.com references to the HD-DVD encryption hack.  They had removed all links that referenced a sixteen digit hex number that unlocked the most currently released HD-DVD titles from the revenue AACS copy protection scheme.

Gone With the Martian Wind

Gone With the Martian Wind:

Mars is a very windy place-so windy, in fact, that bright, oxidized martian soil is being scoured away by martian winds and dust devils to reveal darker, sub-surface soil with the end result of making the whole planet warmer.

In a recent Global Warming debate I had someone politely point out to me that there is Global Warming on Mars which cannot be attributed to human causes…  I think that Global Warming on Mars is probably not caused by us unlucky humans, there are many explanations as to the warming trend on the Red Planet.  🙂

Harry to fight for Granny and Country

Prince Harry is definitly going to be deployed to Iraq.  He will partake in a six month tour.

 I am happy his own wishes are being granted.  There is a concern that he will be targeted for kidnapping by extremists, but Harry has always said that he will go where his unit takes him.  He joined the army to fight for his country, and although this takes him into the Iraq quagmire, he will go willingly.  Good for you Harry!

A fix for the annoying XP bug

So when my lovely wife was away visiting our friend Mickey this week, I took it upon myself to finally fix her laptop.  My willingness to do this had nothing whatsoever to do with the (barely) veiled threats she was issuing me if i did not fix it. 🙂

Like a good geek I decided to forego a call to HP tech support.  I always get so frustrated, explaining to them that I have tried this, and that, and the result will not change if I do it for a third time, with them on the phone.
