Tiredness can kill (good ideas)

It is widely accepted that if someone works long hours their productivy, effectiveness and mental agility drops substantially. This is most often seen with people who work 2 jobs.

A similar degredation is also be seen if someone is not getting the recomended 7-8 hours of sleep per night.

There are of course the exceptions to every rule, but Merced City Council last night proved to be no exception. When discussing the nomination to the planning council, it was suggested by John Carlisle to hold a candidates night where each applicant could talk briefly about their experience and qualifications for the post.

Comcast and HD

So despite Comcast’s boast of having the most HD, their lineup is pretty paltry when compared to satellite services such as Dish or DirectTV.

Comcast relies on the OnDemand HD which I certainly don’t count… yet at least. When I watch CNN I want to see the HD variant – but of course CNN is not available in HD yet on Comcast.

When I last spoke to them, they assured me that by the end of the month they will be adding CNN, Animal Planet and a few other new HD Channels. But even so they are still WAY behind the competition. I had a great time negotiating. I did a lot of research on edmunds.com and vehix.com, and knew exactly what car I wanted, and what I should expect to pay for it. In the end I visited 3 dealerships, and got them to quote the exact same car – I found a model I wanted in port, so they could all claim it if they wanted. Armed with the VIN of the vehicle, and the Invoice price I went to work shuttling between dealerships.
