CBS coming to Joost / BBC to open tv archive online

Two news items that caught my attention on the net recently.

CBS has signed a deal with Joost to make top current and classic programming available for free, to our viewers and the BBC is to open up its vast archive of video and audio in an on-demand trial.

People, mark my word.  With DVR’s and On-Demand programming, the way we watch TV has changed forever.

MacBook Pro’s Woes

Ya know, my whole Apple experience has been pretty good unlike some born complainers such as Mr Software and Beer (Only Joking). 

However, since February I have been having really terrible experiences with my wireless connection at home, or indeed anywhere. It turns out that the 2007-02 update from apple actually causes a lot of problems. Needless to say my wifes laptop connects fine at home all the time.

Connecting to a Mac OS X share from Vista

One of the things that is annoying me about Vista is that I can’t
connect to my SMB shares on my Mac. When I try to log in, it rejects my
password. I looked at /var/log/samba/log.smbd on my Mac, and here’s
what I saw:

[2006/09/21 13:55:45, 1] auth_ods.c:opendirectory_ntlmv2_auth_user(312)
User “username” failed to authenticate with
“dsAuthMethodStandard:dsAuthNodeNTLMv2” (-14090)

The Brits have their own Mac Ads!

Check them out! This is hilarious. Apple UK had to get fairly original, as there are a lot more restrictions on what you can actually say about your competition (Microsoft).

My favorite are entitled “Restarting” and “Pie Chart”.
