Mac OS X Leopard Update

So Apple have updated their Leopard site today including some new videos showing various new features.

A new feature of the Desktop / Dock is Stacks, and it looks like the answer to many of my cluttered Dock woes, and the new graphics effect look very nice indeed. The time machine feature is going to be great for versioning of local documents, and the new finder with cover flow is looking amazing…

I cannot wait to upgrade…

Wii Virtual Console Games are fun!

So, I had remarked earlier about the lack of quality Wii Games currently available. I have been very much enjoying my Wii sports time, but I am at the point in Wii Tennis where I can win and still lose points…

So I thought maybe it is time to check out the Virtual Console selections on the Wii Shop Channel. I had been holding off as I thought playing old games would be a harsh reminder of how far gaming has come. I have always believed that one should never try and meet their childhood heroes, as they are never as nice or as cool as you remember them.

Wii Controller is expensive!

I have noticed a strategy of Nintendo’s, in that if you take into account that all the Nintendo Virtual Console based games seem to require the classic controller, and the nunchuck is a required component for many if not most Wii games, the cost of a controller for the wii is considerable.

Mac OS Hostname and the Bash prompt

When I am using my MacBook Pro on my offices LAN, I sometimes encounter an issue where my hostname displayed in the bash prompt is actually of a different machine. For example, instead of saying:

user@geekybrit$
