Amazon.com let me down…

So my buddy and I were having concerns on Friday that we would not receive our pre-ordered ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ books. Mr Crabapples reserved a copy with Borders, whereas I had ordered it through Amazon.com for delivery.

I had phoned Amazon.com, and was assured it would be with me on Saturday between 7am and 7pm. Mr C was not so lucky, as he could not find his order, and Borders told him they had no record of his purchase. I ended up expecting that I would receive the book, and be a number of chapters in before he managed to find one in a store somewhere. Of course, it had to happen. Amazon.com failed to deliver the book to me. At 8.30pm (I gave them a good chance) I called, and was informed that indeed it would not be delivered, and that I was entitled to a full refund, and a free copy of the book to be delivered on Monday. I was very disappointed, especially as I walked by copies on the shelves of local stores, as I trundled around town looking for something else.

I don’t even have Blockbuster Online, but I’m paying for it.

So last month, I was looking over the charges of my american express card, and I noticed that I had been charged $12 about a dozen times by Blockbuster Online. This is of course pretty curious, as I am not even a blockbuster member, never mind one of those people who receives dvd’s in the mail.

I called American Express, and disputed the charges (the dispute is still ongoing), but today I noticed there an additional 10 charges for $19.99. It appears a lot of people are having fun at my expense! I am on hold with American Express right now, and will be cancelling my card.

Transformers – Robots in disguise

Yeah, Yeah, I was a part of the generation that grew up on the adventures of Optimus Prime, BumbleBee and the hatefull Megatron. I loved the transformers. LOVED THEM. I had the Optimus Prime toy, and it was one of my proudest possesions (I must try and find it one day).

Now the movie is out, which my lovely wife and I went to see yesterday.
