Time to act on climate change (You too Republicans)

Our View: Time to act on climate change:

Skeptics of global warming are now working overtime to discredit and divert attention from the latest worrisome news about the planet’s feverish climate.

I agree with the author of this Opinion Editorial of my local paper. Traditionally those on the right in the US have been “Global Warming Deniers”. The tide is, I believe, turning with more prominent leaders coming out with such statements that accept the fact that Climate Change is a real issue. President Bush has acknowledged this fact for example.

BBC: “A US man who stored his amputated leg in a barbecue smoker that was later auctioned off is locked in a custody dispute with the man who bought it.”

Seriously, this one would only happen here in the good ole USA.

Watching a drunk driver get arrested and then freed…

On Friday on the way home from my lovely wife’s birthday dinner we saw a number of police vehicles in our neighborhood. We also saw a female getting given the police sobriety test. An article in our local paper explains what had occurred.

It turns out there was a hit and run accident, with a female perpetrator, Diana Almanza. This individual had just last week committed the same offense (DUI and hit and run), and was let go after a night in jail. Then on Friday, she committed the exact same offense, and would you believe it, hit the same vehicle as she did last week!

On ESPN’s Sports Center (prescribed bedtime viewing in the Geeky Brit’s household), my lovely wife and I just saw the following evideo from this past Sunday’s Kansas City game. It was in the NFL top 5 plays of the week….
