New Mexico Lawmaker Petitions to Restore Pluto’s Planet Status: “The state of New Mexico State could effectively secede from the astronomical community if a resolution to call Pluto a planet is passed.

Come on folks, isn’t this being a little too sentimental? In the big picture of the world wide escalation of war, peace in the middle east, increasing global poverty levels and hunger, and the inordinate amount of time it is taking my order girls scout cookies to arrive, how much does this really matter?

Of course New Mexico is also the home of Roswell, and the epicenter of conspiracy theories concerning aliens, so heres the beginnings of a plausible rumor:

I think all this Pluto not being a planet business, a plot by the Men in Black (aka George Bush and Dick Cheney) to hide the fact that they are indeed actually from Pluto themselves, and have been hiding this fact from people for all this time. It makes perfect sense when you think about it. neither Dick Cheney or george Bush have a P in there name, and Pluto’s name begins with a P! Coincidence? I don’t think so….
