MacBook Pro’s Woes
Ya know, my whole Apple experience has been pretty good unlike some born complainers such as Mr Software and Beer (Only Joking).Â
However, since February I have been having really terrible experiences with my wireless connection at home, or indeed anywhere. It turns out that the 2007-02 update from apple actually causes a lot of problems. Needless to say my wifes laptop connects fine at home all the time.
Today I had to struggle in numerous hot spots where I needed access. I resorted to finding wired links in every case… I am still looking for the solution, but as of now I am unable to connect to a WPA or WEP protected connection still. Gee thanks apple.

As of today there is still no fix. My solution at home was to downgrade my security to 64 bit WEP and add MAC restrictions on who can access my network. I would also have liked to disable my SSID broadcast, but well, I have heard from other Mac users that this can cause issues in of itself.

Yesterday Apple Release the 2007-003 update
“This update is recommended for all Intel-based Macintosh computers and includes compatibility updates for certain third-party access points configured to use WPAâ„¢ or WPA2â„¢ security”
Perhaps this will fix it – I sure hope so. I will have to wait until this evening to test it though 🙁
