Come on folks, isn’t this being a little too sentimental? In the big picture of the world wide escalation of war, peace in the middle east, increasing global poverty levels and hunger, and the inordinate amount of time it is taking my order girls scout cookies to arrive, how much does this really matter?

Lets all take stock

BBC: So the DJIA decided to go high diving yesterday, losing 416 points. After something like this some people (cough .. Dad) think we have to start selling, whereas I like to buy on days like this. So I am going to coin a new phrase: “Buy Low, Sell High”. Wait that seems familiar…

A Skeleton in God’s Closet

The BBC and other sources are reporting on James Cameron’s latest documentary that claims to have found the coffin of Jesus, Mary Magdelene, and most controversially Jesus’ son Judah.

Very interestingly this is very similar to a plot of one of my favorite books A Skeleton in God’s Closet by Paul L. Maier.

Dame Helen a shoe in…

…apparantly. The BBC are reporting that the British firm William Hill have already paid out for wagers on Dame Helen Mirren winning the best actress oscar this weekend. A little premature perhaps? Maybe not, she was absolutely fantastic in “The Queen”. As the bookie says “Should the unimaginable occur and Dame Helen fails to win the Oscar, then she will have been robbed and so will we.”

Ahhh British optimism.
